DoorDash is expanding its partnerships with leading organizations to support and empower immigrant and refugee communities. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is one of the world’s leading humanitarian organizations, responding to the world’s worst crises and helping people to survive and rebuild their lives.

Today, we are excited to announce that DoorDash has expanded its partnership with the IRC to provide critical resources and support for immigrant and refugee communities nationwide. This new partnership will help the IRC provide much-needed assistance to members of these communities, including access to essential resources like food, shelter, and education.

What Is DoorDash’s Partnership With the International Rescue Committee?

DoorDash is partnering with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to expand its financial empowerment programming. The goal of the partnership is to support immigrant and refugee communities in the U.S.


The IRC is a global organization that helps people affected by conflict and disaster to rebuild their lives. DoorDash will work with the IRC to offer financial education and training to help immigrants and refugees create sustainable businesses and improve their economic security.

DoorDash’s Financial Empowerment Programming

DoorDash is expanding its financial empowerment programming through a new partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC). This collaboration will support immigrant and refugee communities across the country.


The IRC is the world’s leading organization for refugees and one of DoorDash’s key partners in this effort. The IRC will provide DoorDash with expertise on the unique needs of immigrant and refugee communities, as well as help to identify individuals and families who could benefit from the program.


DoorDash’s financial empowerment programming provides access to critical resources, including job training, English classes, and more. With this expanded partnership, DoorDash aims to reach even more people in need.

The Areas of Focus for This Financial Empowerment Program

The DoorDash and IRC partnership will focus on four key areas to help immigrants and refugees become financially empowered:


1. Financial literacy and education: This will include basic money management skills, such as budgeting, saving, and understanding credit scores and reports.


2. Employment readiness and opportunities: Participants will learn how to create resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles, as well as how to interview for jobs.


3. Entrepreneurship education and support: This will equip participants with the tools they need to start their own businesses, including training in business planning, financial management, and market research.


4. Access to technology: This will provide participants with access to computers and the internet, as well as digital literacy training so they can use technology safely and effectively for their financial goals.

How These Programs Will Support Immigrant and Refugee Communities

As part of DoorDash’s commitment to building an inclusive society, these programs will provide comprehensive support to immigrant and refugee communities.


The first program, DoorDash for Change, will offer financial assistance to those who are facing legal or other barriers to employment. The second program, DoorDash Cares, will provide access to resources and services to help members of these communities thrive.

Additional Resources for Immigrant and Refugee Communities

In addition to the new partnership with the IRC, DoorDash is also expanding its commitment to financial empowerment for immigrant and refugee communities through its existing programs.


DoorDash will continue to support programs like UndocuFund, which provides emergency relief for undocumented individuals and families affected by natural disasters, and Dashboard, which helps Dashers start and grow their businesses.


Through Dashboard, DoorDash offers tools and resources specifically for immigrant and refugee entrepreneurs, including access to mentorship, funding, and business resources.


DoorDash is also a founding member of the We Are Here Movement, a coalition of over 150 companies committed to supporting immigrants and refugees.

Other Ways DoorDash Supports Immigrant and Refugee Communities

DoorDash is also partnering with the IRC to launch the IRC Dash Scholarship program, which will provide $1,000 each to up to 100 IRC employees pursuing higher education. In addition, DoorDash is committing $50,000 over the next two years to support IRC’s employment programs that help immigrants and refugees find quality jobs.
